Principal's Message
Giorgia Diomedes: Stephen Foster Elementary Principal
We are thrilled to announce that Giorgia Diomedes has joined us as the new principal of Stephen Foster Elementary School.
Principal Diomedes brings with her 28 years of experience in Special Education, having worked as a Special Day Teacher with students ranging from Kindergarten to 12th grade, and she has served as an Assistant Principal and Principal for 6 years. She holds a Master's degree in SPED with an emphasis in Behavioral Analysis from California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), and completed her undergraduate studies at University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC).
Principal Diomedes' journey into education began unexpectedly. After returning home from Santa Cruz she answered a newspaper ad while working at a local grocery store, which led her to a fulfilling career in teaching. Initially aspiring to be a high school English teacher, Principal Diomedes adapted her path when the credential program at UCSC was discontinued. She found her way through the CSUDH credential program and soon began her teaching career at a non-public school in Glendale, Calif.
When asked about her achievements, Principal Diomedes expressed her pride in being appointed as the principal of Stephen Foster, calling it “the jewel in the crown of my career.” Her enthusiasm for her new role reflects her commitment to nurturing the unique qualities of our school and its students.
Looking ahead, Principal Diomedes has identified two primary goals for her tenure at Stephen Foster: improving attendance and enhancing writing skills among students. She believes that consistent attendance is critical to student success and that mastering writing opens doors to countless opportunities.
Principal Diomedes is excited to embark on this new journey with us, and we are equally excited to have her at the helm of Stephen Foster Elementary. Please join us in welcoming Giorgia to our school community!
